A portal to the European workforce
EURES is the European agency committed to facilitating mobility within the EU.
Since its creation in 1994, EURES (European Employment Services) has helped thousands of European citizens to find employment in other EU Member States, as well as in Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland, and helped employers access the European talent pool. The EURES Malta service is provided by the national public employment service, Jobsplus, in collaboration with the European Commission, the European Labor Authority and other employment stakeholders.
EURES aims to facilitate employment in the EU by providing jobseekers with the relevant information they need on working and living conditions in each participating country. At the same time, EURES also helps employers find local vacancies by connecting candidates and promoting them abroad at European recruitment events.
Employers based in Malta can post job vacancies to a wider European audience free of charge. Additionally, EURES Malta can help employers screen potential candidates and provide tailor-made recruitment solutions. Through online recruitment events, employers can connect with active jobseekers across the EU via the virtual EURES platform.
To ensure that all jobseekers have a fair chance of getting a job, EURES runs the Targeted Mobility scheme to provide financial support where needed. In addition to integration funding for employers, this includes funding to attend job interviews, language courses, country and family relocation as well as recognition of diplomas and qualifications for jobseekers.
Once the recruitment process is complete, EURES Malta continues to provide support to employers and their EU workers by organizing ‘integration sessions’. These sessions are designed to help EU national employees in Malta acclimate to their new working and living environment by sharing information on topics such as residency, social security, taxation, healthcare health and training opportunities.
For questions concerning European mobility and the recruitment of EU nationals, EURES Malta is a one-stop-shop for employers, employees and jobseekers. You can get in touch at [email protected] and 2220 1662/3, or access the online chat via the EURES portal (every Friday) via www.eures.europa.eu.
