Aug 6 (Reuters) – Amazon.com Inc (AMZN.O) has ordered all U.S. employees to wear face masks at work regardless of their immunization status, as the highly infectious Delta variant of COVID-19 sweeps the country.
Companies across the United States have tightened their defenses against the virus, after the Delta variant forced the U.S. public health agency to change course and insist that even fully vaccinated people wear masks.
“We are monitoring the situation closely and will continue to follow local government guidance and work closely with key healthcare professionals, collecting their advice and recommendations as we move forward to ensure our buildings are optimized for the safety of our teams, ”said an Amazon spokesperson. said in a statement Friday.
Last month, big techs like Google and Alphabet Inc’s (GOOGL.O) Facebook Inc (FB.O) asked U.S. employees to get vaccinated to enter offices, while Twitter Inc (TWTR.N ) said it was closing its reopened offices in the countryside. Read more
