COTA is offering $62 all-summer passes for students through September 15.

The Central Ohio Transit Authority launched a discounted summer pass program for students of all ages until September 15.

The passes, which cost $62, allow holders unlimited access to fixed-route buses, on demand COTA//More department, and General public COTA paratransit services at a savings of more than $150, the transit agency said in a statement.

COTA officials say the pass will help “reduce the transit gap that often occurs during the summer when school is not in session,” allowing students of all ages (elementary, secondary , college, university, professional, technological, commercial, etc.) unlimited access to public transit for summer jobs, internships, job shadowing and fun activities.

The program uses COTA’s digital fare payment systemwith pass holders using the Transit app or one COTA smart card for any fixed-route transport. Students using COTA//Plus will receive a special access code to ride, and those using COTA Mainstream will receive instructions upon registration.

COTA is hosting a “School’s Out for Summer Beach Party” sign-up drive through Friday at the COTA Experience Center at 33 N. High St. to provide more information about the program.

To enroll in the program, students must bring a student ID or proof of enrollment, such as a transcript, enrollment letter, or web portal, to the COTA Experience Center Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
