Denise L. Hess, 61, of McClure, died Friday, April 1, 2022 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Born February 18, 1961 in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late George S. Wray and the late Janet L. (Wray) Wray, who survives.

In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her brothers, Russell, Randy and Douglas Wray.

Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, James L. Hess, whom she married on September 22, 1979; children, Jessica Williams and her husband, Drew, of McClure, Rebecca Hess, of Mifflinburg, and Tyler Hess and his wife, Karly, of Lewistown; three grandchildren, Brody Williams, Brooks Williams and Kensie Williams.

Denise graduated in 1979 from Chief Logan High School.

She was a member of Lawver United Methodist Church.

Denise worked as a clerk for the USDA Farm Service Agency from 1983 until her retirement in 2016.

She loved to craft, cook, knit and sew. She also loved camping, spending time with her family and above all, she loved being with her grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2022 at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at the funeral home, with the Reverend James Jacobs officiating.

Interment will be at Lawver United Methodist Cemetery, McClure.
