SALT LAKE CITY – The Internal Revenue Service is holding three job fairs this week as it needs to quickly hire 1,000 people at the Ogden Processing Center.

The agency uses a special process that allows federal agencies to act quickly when there is a critical hiring need.

This process means that many people will be hired locally and could start working within 45 days.

The IRS has recommended that people pre-register before attending the Workforce Services recruitment fairs, 1290 E 1450 S., Clearfield, UT 84015.

A virtual recruiting event is also scheduled for Wednesday, March 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can pre-register here.

Most positions are entry-level and no prior tax experience is necessary. Pay starts at $15.61 per hour and increases from there. In addition, the IRS said applicants could get a hiring incentive and current employees could get a referral bonus.

The IRS reminded applicants to bring a resume and two types of identification, including a state driver’s license and/or state ID card, birth certificate, U.S. passport , military ID, or social security card.

Candidates are also encouraged, but not required, to create a account, create or upload a resume, and email it to [email protected] prior to the in-person event.
