In an effort to promote different career paths and professions, IowaWORKS will host a multi-employer hiring event at the job center, 1801A East Kimberly Road, Davenport, Wednesday, March 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Twenty employers have been invited to share career opportunities and will shortlist candidates for potential employment.

The event is new in hopes of attracting more job seekers to various professions.

IowaWORKS The center serves as a resource for job seekers who need help with resumes and interview skills. They can also participate in training workshops to help them in their job search. Job seekers can also use the computers available at the job center which they might not otherwise have access to.

IowaWORKS hopes to hold a monthly multi-employer hiring event to invite more employers to participate and offer a range of occupations that can appeal to ALL job seekers, including displaced workers, youth, seniors and people facing obstacles.
