Other links point to Pitt as a potential landing point for USC Kedon Slovis transfer
Pitt has been linked with a few transfer quarterbacks on the ‘free agency’ transfer portal this winter, but it looks like the ties between one of them are starting to get a bit brighter.
USC transfer Kedon Slovis had previously been linked to Pitt due to his relationship with Pitt’s female soccer player Kate McKay, but another factor – a potentially lucrative factor – was discovered by HailToPitt on Twitter.
Slovis signed a name, image and likeness deal with American Eagle in September, partnering with the clothing brand as a star student-athlete with a nationwide marketing campaign. What about American Eagle headquarters? As it turns out, is the SouthSide Works complex in Pittsburgh, just down the street from Pitt’s football facilities on the south side.

Sure, that’s a lot of speculation, but with a credible connection to Pitt since McKay has spent the last two seasons as a student-athlete and a credible connection to Pittsburgh as an American Eagle partner, Slovis has plenty. opportunities in Pittsburgh without even mentioning the football aspect.
With Kenny Pickett on the verge of exiting and a largely inexperienced group of quarterbacks led by Nick Patti still on the roster, Slovis would have the opportunity to compete for the starting spot on an attack that sacks many talented playmakers – including the Biletnikoff Prize winner in Jordan Addison.
As Slovis’s time at USC ended on a bitter note, ceding the starting role to Jaxson Dart, he had success at SoCal. Slovis excelled early on, scoring 3,502 yards and 30 first-year touchdowns in 2019. He played well in USC’s Covid-shortened 2020 season, throwing for 1,921 yards and 17 touchdowns, but he lost the spot. starting as a junior this season.
With 7,576 passing yards and 58 touchdowns in 27 games at USC, Slovis has shown his marksmanship and production as an All-Pac 12 quarterback. But his drawbacks come in. much of his inability to deliver much on the pitch.
A change of scenery might be just what Slovis needs to reignite his NFL draft supply, and Pitt would offer a chance to succeed a future first-round draft pick who just drastically increased his own draft stock this past. season. While Slovis is in high demand throughout the cycle, Pitt appears to be a potential landing point.
