Seven South County Fire Agencies Offer Joint Hiring Process

Seven South King County fire agencies have formed Wa Fire Careers with the goal of streamlining and simplifying the process of becoming a firefighter, making it more affordable, accessible and inclusive for everyone.

Entry level firefighter registration is now open online for WAFireCareers partner agencies – Enumclaw Fire Department, King County Fire District #20, Puget Sound Fire, Renton Regional Fire Authority, South King Fire & Rescue, Tukwila Fire Department and Valley Regional Fire Authority.

The departments announced the joint recruitment and hiring process for entry-level firefighters in a Feb. 25 news release.

“Being a firefighter is a very rewarding profession, with the opportunity to help members of the community in an emergency,” the statement said. “It’s also a physically and emotionally demanding profession, with the call to put others before yourself.”

Anyone who may be interested in a career in the fire service and would like to learn more about the recruit academy, fitness requirements and view frequently asked questions should visit wafirecareers.org.

To register and start the hiring process, visit National Testing Network, select Firefighter from the “Find Jobs” drop-down menu, select “Washington,” and then select WAFireCareers Partner Agencies. This will automatically sign you up to all seven partner fire departments for the price of one test.
