These are the eight blue-chipers currently on the Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears are currently in the process of building their roster for the 2022 season. It was a very painstaking process that started with bringing in outside sources to go through the entire Bears organization. George McCaskey and the board wanted to get outside opinions and thoughts on where the team stands and what they should be doing to make things better. A big name that was consulted in the hiring process was Bill Polian.
We discussed the hiring process, the Chicago Bears have been through enough of this offseason so I won’t go over all of that. Instead, the crux of the process was that Polian and George McCaskey interviewed a total of 23 candidates (13 general managers and 10 head coaches). After choosing Ryan Poles as the next general manager, Polian’s time with the Bears was over.
The Poles then interviewed the three remaining head coaches on the Bears’ shortlist and the Poles selected Matt Eberflus as their next head coach. The staff was supplemented by mostly inexperienced position coordinators and coaches who all progressed to positions they had never held before or had held only a short time before. It will be interesting to see how this all pans out, I just hope it doesn’t ruin Justin Fields.
Speaking of Justin Fields, let’s stop with the coaching and front office focus for this article, shall we? Bill Polian was on ESPN 1000 recently, talking on The Waddle and Silvy Show about the Chicago Bears roster. He explained how, in interviews with head coaches and general managers, the general consensus was that the Chicago Bears had six to eight top-notch players. Polian said that wasn’t enough, he said teams needed 10-12 blue-chipers to be a contender.
I’ve gone through the roster and believe these are the top eight players currently on the Chicago Bears roster.
