The TSA is hiring Security Screening Officers to work at Kahului International Airport (OGG). There are currently several full-time and part-time positions available and the starting salary is $24.48 per hour. After applying, interested candidates will take a computer-based test to assess their English skills and proficiency and participate in a structured interview session. In order to be considered for employment, applicants will need to pass a medical evaluation, federal drug screening, and pre-employment investigation. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, be US citizens or nationals, and have at least a high school diploma or GED.
OGG TSOs are federal employees. Benefits include paid training, annual and sick leave, comprehensive health care plans for full-time and part-time employees, and a generous 401k retirement plan. BSFs are also eligible for up to $5,000 per year in college tuition reimbursement. The TSA does not distribute pro-rated benefits for part-time workers, and veteran preference is not required to join the agency.
TSA agents screen thousands of air travelers daily, ensuring they arrive at their destination safely. Applicants do not need previous experience in security or law enforcement. All training is provided and employees are compensated for their training time.
After six months, TSOs are eligible for pay raises and those working early mornings, evenings and Sundays receive a shift bonus. Overtime opportunities, paid at time and a half, are often available.
