UofL say no decision has been made on hiring a permanent sporting director despite rumors that interim AD Josh Heird has a job

Reports began circulating Wednesday night that the University of Louisville is locked in appointing interim athletic director Josh Heird for the full-time position. Kenny Payne as the Cards’ head basketball coach. WLKY contacted a UofL spokesperson who said no hiring had been made. They also said the president, Dr. Lori Gonzalez, and the university are engaged in a process and will make an announcement when that process is complete.

Reports began circulating Wednesday night that the University of Louisville is stuck with appointing interim athletic director Josh Heird for the full-time position.

Heird has been in the interim role since December and, among other things, he secured the popular hire of Kenny Payne as the Cards’ head basketball coach.

WLKY contacted a UofL spokesperson who said no hiring had been made.

They also said the president, Dr. Lori Gonzalez, and the university are committed to a process and will make an announcement at the end of that process.
