Louisville, KY – Michael A. Bennett, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky, today announced that his office, to advance environmental justice, has implemented a new procedure for members of the public to report environmental violations . Environmental justice is the fair treatment and meaningful participation of all people, regardless of race, color, national origin, or income, in the development, implementation, and enforcement of laws , environmental regulations and policies.

U.S. Attorney Bennett implemented this public reporting procedure as part of the Justice Department’s overall environmental justice enforcement strategy. “Our abundant natural resources are part of what makes the Commonwealth such a special place to live and work,” said U.S. Attorney Bennett. “We are committed to protecting these natural resources and the health and safety of all citizens of this district, including those who have been historically ignored or marginalized, from pollution and contamination.”
