Youth Services System is looking to hire new people to fill its ranks and help it in its mission of serving vulnerable youth across the region.
YSS will be hosting a drop-in hiring event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, December 16 at the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley, 1226 Chapline St., Wheeling. No appointment is necessary. Applicants should come forward with an up-to-date curriculum vitae.
“We are organizing the event to meet the needs of our clients,” said Gregory Blazy, Director of Human Resources for YSS. “The more we are able to fill our vacancies, the more we, as an agency, are able to meet the needs of our children and our community.
YSS serves this vulnerable population through its intra-agency network of emergency shelters, mental health services, addiction prevention and treatment services, and community services, but the nonprofit is looking for actively taking part-time and additional full-time jobs to meet their growing needs. Needs.
Blazy said the areas most needed are residential specialists who work in emergency shelters: Samaritan House for boys ages 8 to 17 and Helinski Shelter for girls ages 8 to 17; correctional officers from the Ronald C. Mulholland Juvenile Center; and social workers from the Community Services Division.
Additionally, YSS has openings for professional positions, such as therapists and case managers.
“We are looking for a wide range of candidates,” said Blazy. “Students and recent graduates would likely find a vacant position for which they are qualified. Most open positions have basic requirements that do not require a college degree. For those who are looking for a job and know how to interact or work well with young people, I encourage you to apply, ”said Blazy.
“The more positions we fill, the more we can serve young people,” he added.
